The Agricultural University of Tirana welcomed a group of Master's students from Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO), France, as part of a visit organized to give them a closer look at the university's academic offerings, research infrastructure, and the collaboration opportunities it provides.
The visit began with an introductory meeting, during which the students were introduced to the history, mission, and latest developments of the Agricultural University of Tirana (AUT). In her welcoming remarks, the Vice Rector for Institutional Relations and Public Affairs, Associate Professor Romina Koto, presented the university's faculties, study programs, and strategic priorities, placing particular emphasis on the ongoing modernization of the academic curriculum and AUT's continuous efforts to enhance the quality of teaching and scientific research. She also highlighted the university's close collaboration with BOKU University, a strategic partnership that has contributed to the review and development of study programs, the strengthening of academic capacities, and the internationalization of the university.
Following the introductory session, Professor Alketa Grepcka, from the Office of Projects and Development, presented the university's international mobility programs and the opportunities AUT offers to students and academic staff through European programs and inter-university partnerships. During the presentation, participants were provided with information on student exchange programs, international projects, and opportunities for academic and professional development in an international environment.
As part of the visit, the students toured the university's facilities, where they had the opportunity to explore its lecture halls, laboratories, and infrastructure supporting teaching and scientific research.
One of the highlights of the visit was the Smart Agriculture Laboratory at the Faculty of Horticulture, where the students were welcomed by Professor Endrit Kullaj. He introduced them to the innovative technologies used in smart agriculture, the applications of digitalization, and modern solutions for monitoring and managing agricultural crops, highlighting the vital role of technology in shaping the future of agriculture.
The visit continued with tours of the olive oil analysis and soil analysis laboratories, where the students were introduced to the state-of-the-art equipment, laboratory methods, and analytical procedures used to support scientific research, food safety, and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
Through this visit, the French students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the achievements of the Agricultural University of Tirana, its academic standards, modern laboratories, and the university's commitment to fostering a learning environment centered on innovation, scientific research, and international collaboration.
