The Academic Senate of AUT finalizes the reform of its academic offer

After an intensive two-year process carried out jointly with BOKU University, the Academic Senate of Agriculture University of Tirana has approved one of the most important strategic decisions in the university’s history. With the completion of the full reorganization of its academic offer, UBT gives the green light for the 2026–2027 academic year, presenting a new program architecture designed to address the future challenges of the agricultural and rural sector in Albania toward 2030.

At the core of every program stands the student, prepared to meet the real needs of the labor market and the development prospects of the agricultural sector in Albania within the European Union context. Each program is built on an entirely new philosophy and approach, where interdisciplinarity, innovation, and the integration of theory and practice are key elements, ensuring quality, international competitiveness, and alignment with European standards. This approach positions Agriculture University of Tirana as the first institution in the country to place the student, the labor market, and the sector at the center of the academic design process.

This milestone is the result of the dedicated work of commissions and working groups, supported by the expertise and missions of the team from BOKU University, and marks the beginning of the full redesign of the PhD program, as well as the restructuring of the university administration to ensure efficiency and the highest institutional standards.

With this new academic offer, Agriculture University of Tirana reaffirms its 75-year mission, remaining committed to serving the public sector and shaping an offer that anticipates Albania’s future development within the European Union. The university is not simply changing its programs—it is affirming its vision, philosophy, and standards by placing the student, the labor market, and the sector’s prospects at the center of every academic decision.
