On World Health Day, April 7, a different kind of activity was organized on one of the sports fields of the Agricultural University of Tirana campus with students from the “Food and Nutrition Sciences” program at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food, focusing on promoting physical activity as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.
The activity was organized by lecturer Sanije Zejnelhoxha in a dynamic and motivating atmosphere, where students were engaged not only in structured physical exercises but also in various games that made the activity more enjoyable and interactive. The session was led by trainer Geljana Elmasllari, who is also a Master of Science student in Food and Nutrition Sciences, and who guided a set of exercises tailored to improving physical well-being.
During the activity, simple physiological measurements were also carried out using an oximeter and a dynamometer, giving students the opportunity to observe firsthand how the body responds during physical activity—from increased oxygen demand to the reactions of the cardiovascular and muscular systems.
Beyond its educational aspect, the activity was experienced as an energetic and motivating experience. The students themselves expressed that it was a very interesting workout and different from their daily routine, emphasizing the importance of physical activity not only for physical health but also for mental well-being.
This initiative aims to further raise awareness and encourage the active involvement of students in promoting healthy lifestyles, bringing them closer to practical approaches that will accompany them throughout their professional journey.
