Information Session at AUT on Grants from the Butrint Management Foundation

A concrete opportunity to turn scientific research into real impact on cultural and natural heritage was presented today at the Agricultural University of Tirana during an information session on the call for grant applications from the Butrint Management Foundation (BMF).

The event brought together interested academic staff and researchers, who were introduced in detail to the application process, selection criteria, and priority areas supported by the foundation. Prof. Dr. Endrit Kullaj, representative of the Scientific Research Group from UBT, led the meeting, while the Butrint Management Foundation was represented at the session by its director, Jorida Muho.

During the presentation, it was emphasized that the call is open to higher education institutions, public and non-public organizations, as well as individual researchers with experience in scientific research.

The priority fields for applicants from AUT include geology, economics, ecology, and agriculture (areas in which UBT has expertise), as well as fields directly related to sustainable development and the preservation of the cultural and natural heritage of Butrint.

The foundation supports scientific and academic research projects with a total funding amount of up to 30,000 USD.

The session also presented the required application documentation and explained the evaluation process.

This information session aims to encourage the involvement of the AUT academic community in impactful research projects, creating bridges of collaboration with prestigious institutions and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the country.

This activity also follows the established cooperation between AUT and the Butrint Management Foundation, formalized earlier through a framework agreement aimed at strengthening scientific research, exchanging expertise, and developing joint projects in support of the conservation and sustainable management of Butrint.
