The Faculty of Agriculture and Environment at UBT held its Academic Assembly, where the work analysis and the main development directions of the faculty for the upcoming period were presented.
During the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Prof. Dr. Seit Shallari, delivered a detailed presentation on the faculty’s progress, highlighting the promotion of study programs, academic reforms carried out in cooperation with BOKU University of Vienna, and the expansion of the academic offer in line with the demands of the labor market in Albania. Also present at this important meeting was the Rector of UBT, Prof. Dr. Fatbardh Sallaku, who from the very beginning has emphasized the internationalization of the university as a way to adapt to the labor market and advance European integration.
The Faculty of Agriculture and Environment is also committed to ensuring the quality of its study programs and strengthening academic standards, aiming to prepare graduates whose qualifications are directly aligned with labor market demands and the country’s European integration process. Through curriculum modernization, alignment with EU standards, and international cooperation, FBM seeks to educate highly qualified experts in agriculture, environment, and natural resource management, capable of meeting the institutional and professional needs arising from the country’s integration into European structures.
This faculty offers four Bachelor study programs in cooperation and under the expertise of BOKU University in Vienna: Information Technology in Agriculture and Environment, Environmental and Water Engineering, Agricultural Sciences and Food Safety, and Landscape Architecture.
FBM offers study programs in agriculture and food safety, animal science, aquaculture and fisheries, as well as environmental engineering for water and natural resource management. The programs also include IT and digitalization in agriculture, territorial planning, and landscape architecture.
Graduates can pursue careers as specialists in precision agriculture and farm management, GIS and environmental monitoring analysts, experts in IoT technologies and automation, as well as application developers and system administrators in digitalization processes.
Moreover, the programs open employment opportunities in public and private institutions, environmental agencies, consulting companies, EU-funded infrastructure and rural development projects, as well as in research organizations, universities, and the professional advisory sector, directly linking academic training with real labor market demands.
