Animal Sciences and Aquaculture


  • To improve students’ competencies in managing livestock and fish farms.

  • Applies knowledge of physiology, genetics, nutrition, and reproduction of animals and fish to optimize productivity and product quality.
  • Evaluates the interactions between genotype, environment, and management practices in different production systems.
  • Designs and manages livestock and aquaculture systems that balance productivity, profitability, and environmental stewardship.
  • Adapts production systems to climate change, emerging diseases, and evolving market demands.
  • Conducts independent and collaborative research to address current and future challenges in animal and fish production.

During the development of this program, the principle of an interdisciplinary approach has been followed. This principle aims to integrate the analytical methods and tools of different disciplines, generating new knowledge and solutions to complex problems with real impact on agricultural production, the environment, and technology transfer, in the context of rapid dynamics in the agricultural and rural sector. In line with international standards, the program integrates knowledge from the fields of social sciences, natural sciences, and technical sciences, providing a comprehensive education that prepares students to face complex challenges in the real labor market.

  • With supplementary modules also for students from other Bachelor studies within UBT or from other universities.
