AUT introduced young people to the opportunities they have to get involved in entrepreneurship or startup projects. The university hosted the presentation of the national program Start Up Albania, an initiative aimed at supporting young people in developing innovative ideas and creating new enterprises.
By invitation of the Vice-Rector for Science and Projects, Prof. Dr. Erinda Lika, the Program Director, Arjan Ymeri, presented in detail the opportunities offered by the initiative for Albanian students and young people, including financial support, professional mentoring, specialized training, and access to collaborative networks. He emphasized that the program aims to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem in the country, where young people’s creative ideas can be developed and transformed into real businesses.
During his speech, Ymeri urged AUT students to be active and apply with innovative ideas, emphasizing that universities are the primary source of new ideas and that students have great potential to bring concrete solutions to various sectors, particularly in priority areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and others. He also highlighted opportunities in the digital sector, such as IT and Artificial Intelligence.
The activity took place with wide participation from students and faculty, who were closely introduced to the application criteria, the project selection phases, and the benefits offered by the program to the winners. The discussions also focused on the importance of linking academic knowledge with the labor market and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives that contribute to the country’s economic development.
