AUT brings together experts and students on forests, in the presence of the Minister of Environment

The Agricultural University of Tirana, through the Faculty of Forestry Sciences, today brought together field experts with significant contributions to forest management, academic staff, and students, on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the Albanian Forestry Service. The event served as a moment of reflection on the historical journey of the forestry service in Albania, as well as a space to share a vision for the future of sustainable forest resource management.

The event was also attended by the Minister of Environment, Mr. Sofjan Jaupaj, who highlighted the role of academic institutions in strengthening human capacities and in shaping long-term policies for forest protection. The discussions emphasized that today the protection of forests is no longer merely an administrative matter, but a strategic policy that requires close cooperation between scientific knowledge and public institutions.

During the event, certificates of appreciation were awarded to several field experts in recognition of their long-term and professional contributions to the development, study, and protection of Albanian forests, highlighting the role of scientific expertise in preserving this national asset.

The Faculty of Forestry Sciences at UBT has been and continues to be a key partner in shaping modern forest management policies, linking scientific research and academic training with public decision-making processes. Central to the event was also the role of students, who are being prepared as the future professionals of the sector, with an approach grounded in knowledge, innovation, and responsibility toward nature.
