UBT Participates in the “Open Day” Event at the “Rakip Kryeziu” Vocational School in Fier

The Agricultural University of Tirana participated in the “Open Day” event organized by the “Rakip Kryeziu” Vocational High School in Fier, a well-known vocational education institution specializing in agriculture and veterinary studies. The event brought together students, teachers, and institutional representatives, creating an informative platform to explore study opportunities and professional training in the fields of agriculture and veterinary science.

The Agricultural University of Tirana was represented at this event by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Prof. Dr. Rezart Postoli, and the Director of Public Relations, Besmira Pelushaj, who presented the innovations the university is implementing as part of the UBT2030 reform initiative.

During the event, the school’s principal, Alket Merdanaj, guided attendees on a tour of the school’s facilities and laboratories, offering a closer look at its practical vocational training spaces, including the cattle barn, poultry unit, small animal center, dairy product processing laboratories, and other facilities dedicated to hands-on learning and professional practice.

The students showed particular interest in UBT’s brochures featuring the new Bachelor’s degree programs, which closely align with the vocational profiles they are pursuing at school. Discussions focused on opportunities for continuing studies in the fields of veterinary medicine, agriculture, food technology, and rural development, as well as on the importance of strengthening the link between vocational education, higher education, and the labor market.

UBT’s participation in such events aims to strengthen cooperation with vocational schools across the country and guide young people toward modern study programs that are aligned with European standards and the real needs of the agri-food sector.
