Academic and research mobility for doctoral students, researchers, and early-career academic staff
The Agriculture University of Tirana (AUT), within the framework of the collaborative project with BOKU University and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (VETMEDUNI), announces the call for applications for academic and research mobility, aimed at developing the research and teaching capacities of academic staff. The “AUT–BOKU 2030” project offers a valuable opportunity for doctoral students and academic staff to benefit from experience at two of the most specialized universities in the fields of agriculture, environment, applied sciences, and veterinary medicine, thereby supporting the improvement of the quality of scientific research and teaching at AUT.
This call is open to doctoral students who are in the first or second year of their PhD studies, their supervisors and co-supervisors, postdoctoral researchers, as well as other academic staff of AUT. The mobility periods will last from three to six months, depending on the work plan and research objectives submitted by the applicant. Participation in this program represents a concrete opportunity to deepen academic expertise, to carry out scientific research in collaboration with professors from BOKU and VETMEDUNI Vienna, to build international cooperation networks, and to integrate advanced practices in the respective field.
At the same time, this call is also open to academic staff from BOKU and VETMEDUNI, who wish to deliver lecture cycles and specialized modules at AUT. Through this program, visiting professors will have the opportunity to share their expertise with AUT students and staff, introducing contemporary practices in teaching and research, as well as contributing to the enrichment of the university’s academic programs.
Furthermore, the participation of BOKU and VETMEDUNI staff in such mobility schemes creates opportunities for the exchange of professional experience, the development of joint research projects, and the promotion of long-term interinstitutional collaboration. This mutual interaction aims not only to enhance the academic capacities of AUT, but also to strengthen the ties between partner universities, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable network of academic and research excellence.
The project covers round-trip travel expenses, accommodation, monthly living expenses, and necessary local transportation during the stay for the implementation of the project, in accordance with the conditions defined in the project proposal.
For the Austrian partners (BOKU and VETMEDUNI), the project also covers travel, accommodation, and living expenses during their stay in Albania, as well as an honorarium as a form of recognition for their contribution to teaching, research, and other academic activities.
The selection criteria and evaluation procedures are defined in the Terms of Reference (ToR), approved by the Academic Senate of AUT, which can be consulted on the university’s official website. All applications must be submitted to the AUT–BOKU 2030 project office, FBM Building (first floor), Rruga Paisi Vodica 1025, Tirana.
AUT encourages all interested candidates who meet the criteria to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to further enhance their academic and research activities, as well as to contribute to strengthening the university’s institutional capacities, in line with European standards in higher education and scientific research.
